How Brontosaurus Got His Name Back
A Prehistoric Tale of Identity and Harmony
Long ago, when the world was young and the continents were one, there was Brontosaurus. He was the Thunder Lizard, and his job was the most important of all. With a STOMP-STOMP-THUD, his heavy feet drummed a beat upon the earth of Pangaea, calling the great grey clouds to gather and the life-giving rains to fall.
But the other dinosaurs grew grumpy. They tired of the mud in their nests and the drips on their scales. In their foolishness, they decided that if they changed his name, they could change his nature.
“You are no longer the Thunder Lizard,” they declared. “You are Apatosaurus - the Deceptive Lizard.”
And so, the thunder went silent. The Brontosaurus stopped his stomping, his heart grew heavy, and the lush green world began to turn to dust.
